If by sucess you mean enough sales to grant a sequel F-Zero is done, Miyamoto has stated several times he don't want to make another one. If it sells 20M+ we may get a 1080p downloadable remaster split in several parts.

Metroid never sold too much to begin with, and with Wii U's small userbase plus the not so good reception of the last game combined I can see a Wii U Metroid selling less than 1M. I don't know if that's enough for Nintendo to kill Metroid, but seems possible.
