You know, contrary to popular belief, people from all sides care about sales. Sales are good indicators of how well a platform is currently doing and how well it's set up for the future. The key thing to keep in mind is that everyone involved can be successful with the platform without being #1 in sales.
A #1 spot doesn't mean that the other #2 or #3 spots are doomed for failure. Success can be found there as well.
