Exactly. Half the point of Pokemon is trading with others. There is a reason they split each release into two versions, and it's not to sell two games to each kid. Trading with someone else for a Pokemon you can't get in your save file is the intended way to play the game. Trading with yourself to get a Pokemon you can't get in one file is essentially an exploit... like setting up two accounts in a competitive game with leaderboards, and repeatedly defeating yourself to raise your ranking. That is how I believe GameFreak sees it: if you are avoiding the trading feature, you are cheating the system in a way. |
It cant possibly be that hard for gamefreak to prevent exploits like this. Just restrict the ability to trade to an account on the same game cartridge.
