Things like this suck. It's as bad as some of the practices by other companies that draw a lot more anger. There is no excuse for it.

I think that's an unfair generalization. In some cases "doing things their own way" leads Nintendo to more consumer friendly actions than competing hardware and software companies. 

That being said, only one save file per cart for Pokemon is inexcusable.
