having played destiny,..  this game shouldn't damage your respect for bungie.  destiny is an amazing game.   imo,. all the critizism comes from inflated expectations due to the "500 million" comment and unfair demands that destiny = multiplat halo instead of being judge as it's own game.   there is probably a lot of salt in there too from those pissed off that bugie gave more love to playstation than xbox due to the marketing deals.

if you like fps games with a focus on co-op,..  if you like pve more than pvp,..  there isn't any game ever made on consoles that comes even within spitting distance of destiny.

Not even Borderlands?

imo borderlands is left in destiny's dust.  boarderlands is bigger but it suffers from the same problem most open worlds game have,.. generic filler.  destiny is still impressively large and you can really tell how much care went into making every inch of the world feel unique and varied and configured for awesome firefights.   plus destiny's online is soo good.   not that co-op is impossible to get into with borderlands but destiny makes it soo easy to drop in and out that i'm always co-oping in destiny where in borderlands i gave up pretty early because i was always by my lonesome and bored.

i only played borderlands 1 thought.   maybe they fixed some of it in the sequel,. i wouldn't know.   didn't enjoy borderlands enought to play the sequel.

Borderlands 2 has way more content than 1. Yes, it's not that easy to do sort of 'random' co-op in Borderlands, but of you get some friends it's helluva lot of fun.
