Doesn't negate the fact that Sony makes very little money on software sales.

But that isn't the point I was trying to make.

It actually nullify all you said on the subject...

Sony make money on SW, but just 4/10 cover the cost of all the 10 released games (6 are unsucessfull SW), and from the 4 just 2 really make them profit. But that is all regarding 1st party.

On 3rd parties they make pure profit, good money, not sure from where you took that... Let's estimate that from the almost 30M SW sold by PS4 7M are 1st party and 23M are 3rd parties... Let's even consider that they make basically 0 profit on 1st parties because of the article (it is untrue, but just to help you out)... the royalties are around 20 dollars for new releases. so 23M SW equals 460M of profits on 3rd parties, if that isn't money I don't know what is.

20 dollars/copy is a pretty steep royalty fee dude. It's more like 10 dollars.

I don't remember any hard figure on it, if you have I would be glad to know, I remember some people estimating 10, 12 and 20... but no problem, if we take it at 10 it would generate 230M, it is still money.

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"
