Now guys, I know a lot of us know that the console market in Japan is on the decline. We also noted the momentum the wii U had just before the tax hike came in and knocked it out of the 10ks before Mk8 which had it last 6 weeks above 10k.
On the week of Mario kart 8 a lot of people were shocked at the low sales in japan including me because I thought it was bundled but then I saw it wasn't.
We know about atleast 2 ps4 bundles in Japan yet we don't know about any new wii U bundles. In fact I haven't seen any wii U bundle for the entire 2014 in Japan. yes the Japanese console market is declining but nintendo isn't doing themselves any favours over there. The one thing I can give sony credit for is how aggressive they are being everywhere including Japan.
Nintendo needs to start having a lot more bundles and maybe 1 or 2 value packs in Japan. For the fiscal year (April2014-April 2015) They are beating the ps4 by about 20 k or so units overall (destiny bundle pushed ps4 well).
If nintendo had bundles Mario kart 8 and had released a 3D world or another 1st party wii U game say tropical freeze bundle sometime earlier this year where do you think ttheir sales would be in Japan right now?
