My analogy doesnt fail because Microsoft needs to purchase to move forward. Once more think of this philosophically....

The businessman will always need a product to sell but the artist will always be able to create.

This is where Nintendo and Sony have MS beat for days.

And artists often need a business to fund their creation, which is why a lot of artists go to companies like MS and Sony.

People downplay MS for not creating some of their popular IPs. But give them no credit for keeping their IPs relevant. Something Sony has often struggled to do with their IPs.

For example, if Killzone was in the hands of 343 Studios if might have turned into something good! It doesn't matter if 343 created the IP. Its take talented people to keep the IP good, people more talented than Guerilla Games.

343 Is a company born to create only one IP and nothing else. Stop expecting creativity elsewhere where that is not their purpose. They will be making Halo until the game is finished.

MS has money...all you have to do is hire the most talented developers, writers and artists have them understand the story and they'll make magic or at least retain somewhat of what the magic was all about. If you manage to hold onto old members of the crew you're golden.

Which brings me to my next point for OP:

MS should buy EA because they wont be able to keep up with Sony's new IP development this gen (even though Sony will still cut it down).
