Will the west get "New" 2DS?

I want to say, probably not, but is possible after a couple of years cause the 2ds is ment for entry level and its mostly for kids so idk if Nintendo should put more effort into upgrading the 2ds since most "core" 3ds gamers probably wont get it anyway
