The real delays were last year. This year, things were probably more on schedule, but the problem was, there just weren`t any games.
That`s why DK was moved to February. If they hadn`t delayed the game, you would have 5 full months with no 1st, 2nd or any real 3rd party game.
I don`t think that even the N64 was in such a dire state in it`s 2nd full year on the market.
My guess is that, Nintendo, a couple years ago, imagined a whole different situation in terms of release schedules. They thought that Wii U would take off and that 3 parties would pick up the slack as they directed their resources to the 3DS - which had a great year, last year (not a coincidence).
I believe they will release Splatoon, Yoshi WW and Mario Maker in the first half. Not so sure PG Robot will release anytime soon. The game seemed far, far behind the others in terms of development.
To fill that hole, they will probably release MP10 or another remake.
Also, we europeans will have Captain Toad in January!
As for the second half, i see all of them coming out in time and anothe remake arriving aswell if sales do catch on.
