The problem here is when it will be replaced.
- Some may think that it is not strong enough to be rided until 2018/2019, but honestly, it is not like it will receive less third party support. Since it is already a Indie/Nintendo machine, maybe it can keep being that for more time.
- Swapping it too early can affect the nintendo core fans, this is very dangerous, since Nintendo needs them more than ever
- If Nintendo put another console early, even if it is stronger than the PS$/XOne, it wouldn't have the user base. It would still be left alone by the third's.
- 2016 would be too early for a 4k supporting machine, for a small price, and too late for a 1080HD one.
My conclusion:
If nintendo is going for cheap HW, 2016 can happen.
If Nintendo is going for the benchmarking tech, they need aligned launchs with PS5/Xbox One 2. They would still need better online, marketing and, somehow, better third party support .
