Well, thats that point of the article isn't it?  That the hardware has already become powerful enough that new gameplay experiences are not opened up just by releasing more powerful hardware.  We have hit a point of diminishing returns.

Improvement on existing gameplay is a good enough reason to bring out a new gen of consoles if you ask me :)

But there hasn't been.  Just better graphics for the most part.


Games like bloodborn  and the witcher will do that for you .These new consoles mean much more to devs then just better graphics.Watch vids on those 2 titles and see how much they improve on previous installments and those are just the first newgen games.Like i said before better processing power can give us more alive immersive worlds with alot of things going on in it and for example better movements and prob alot more things they can add up on.

And a reason for buying this new gen so early is mostly personal.If you can enjoy it at the beginning then why not ?:)
