Additionally, director Hajime Tabata shared new details on the “Episode Duscae” demo included withFinal Fantasy Type-0 HD.

“Duscae” is the name of one of the areas in the game world—not a pun on the Japanese “desu ka,” which translates to “Is it?” The length of the demo is about one hour if you don’t explore, but can last up to four hours otherwise.

The demo will include a piece of the overworld and possibly a dungeon. Players will be able to drive the car around on their own, or have a party member drive. If timing allows for it, chocobos might also be in. There won’t be any boss battles, but there will be “something more amazing” that “Final Fantasy fans will really like.”

Despite Square Enix seemingly confirming the demo will launch day-and-date with Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, Tabata said that they’re “trying” to launch the demo the same day as the game.

The footage shown, which Tabata dubbed the “Overture” tech demo, showcased the game’s dynamic weather, including rain detailed to the point where places under objects don’t get wet. And when it’s sunny, it dries up as you move along. The game also features a dynamic day-night cycle complete with lighting transformation.

Also shown is Noctis’ sword warping system. You’ll use an reticle to aim and toss your sword, warping from location A to B.

Finally, Tabata said he the next update at Jump Festa in December.
