3ds sales down isn't much of a surprise. The new 3ds is coming so many people are thinking twice before buying an old model. Also, Apple is throwing its hat into the industry so there's increased competition. As for WiiU, the recent release of Destiny has grabbed headlines so X1 and PS4 are of course the consoles to buy.

And like another user said, games games games.

Apple threw its "hat into the competition" before the 3DS even came out. That isn't recent. Also, the new model was announced in the last days of August, so the low sales are not because of that either.

And your excuse for WiiU? Really now?

Point taken on the date of n3ds's announcement. As for WiiU, yes. Considering how much money Activision throws into its advertising, I would say that's where the spotlight went.

The audience for Destiny is just worlds apart from WiiU's. No, what we're seeing is a natural decline from June.

140k > 81k > 59k and (weekly) next month will be lower. Simply because Mk can't sustain that baseline of sales as time goes on.
