3ds sales down isn't much of a surprise. The new 3ds is coming so many people are thinking twice before buying an old model. Also, Apple is throwing its hat into the industry so there's increased competition. As for WiiU, the recent release of Destiny has grabbed headlines so X1 and PS4 are of course the consoles to buy.
And like another user said, games games games.
