Sure, MS implementing part of their DRM on the Chinese consoles is a surprise, but it makes sense due to the rampant piracy. The question is... will it work? Sure, it has a one-time activation code, but they'll find a way to circumvent it if there's no always online requirement to monitor it.
But still, we'll get to see how the DRM really works, which will be interesting.
