Fanbase gap is irrelevant when the niche genre musou targets is not even part of said fanbase gap. The people who picked it up (and remember, there was a decent 20k sales of WiiU when HyWa launched) either also picked up a WiiU for the title and musou or they were warm to the series or Zelda, but they weren't large in number. Musou fanbase had dwelt in numbers on Playstation, just look at FW sales of the titles on the PS3. You seem to think that I live in a bubble and don't have several uni friends who happen to be in Japan, and that even if said friends did exist, that I never use this thing called Skype to speak with them about stuff. No one should be comparing these titles. And I'm not trying to take the value from Destiny's sales, I am trying to make people realize that the numbers are skewed by bundles and recolored console (the number of double dips is likely high, and likely not actually increasing the baseline in a meaningful way). So comparing any games with NO bundle to a game not only bundled but bundled with a limited model, is to argue fallacy of incongrous samples. |
Ok man have your way... everybody was overhyped for Destiny in Japan because there was marketing everywhere... the game actually flopped with 100k sales.
People bought 80k of standalone game because of that, and payed full price on the bundle+game just because of the second color that will be standalone next month...
