If 3DS Smash ends up being a good way to play the game, I really don't see why the Wii U one would sell as well on one quarter the install base.  In fact it seems to me like every time they announce a new feature, it's a 3DS exclusive.  They're shooting themselves in the foot.  If the graphics are the only major difference, people aren't going to buy a whole console just to take advantage of that when they've already got a 3DS.

Hopefully they're just holding back on giving us much on the Wii U version until the 3DS one is out.  Because I'm not really seeing a reason to wait.

No, that's not the only difference.

Only thing they share is the base modes and a roster. You have not watched any of the directs that talked about this and it shows in statements like the one I bolded.

If you can point me to an article that backs this up I would love to see it.  (No sarcasm.)  I feel like I've watched every direct and I've scraped through every wiki and article I could find and could only find references to 3DS-exclusive modes and features, and absolutely zero Wii U-exclusive ones.  (I have no doubt that they'll be there, but not making them well-known this close to launch is foolish.)
