Serious question.

It's already out on Ps4 and Ps3. Nothing at this point can save the Vita so it's not a big deal if it doesn't come to Vita.

I don't see a sequel ever coming out, at least not for a long time.

So what does this accomplish besides Microsoft emptying their pockets?

They bought access and mindshare to a huge vibrant community. They possibly bought good publicity. They possibily bought access to Minecraft on Windows Phones. These things alone could be worth $2.5B, and it's possible they could turn a profit relatively quickly, and all they have to do is let Minecraft continue being Minecraft. Millions upon millions of people are actively playing Minecraft right _now_.

If they bought another studio, like Capcom as I see others have suggested, they would actually have to WORK at making good _new_ games. They would probably get no good real publicity out of it. Capcom is sorta irrelevant imo. How many people are playing a Resident Evil game right _now_. Probably not even close to a million people.
