Perhaps, this move is to get Microsoft into the Third Party Software door?

Microsoft hasn't had the best of luck in the console hardware market since they started with the original Xbox in 2001. Maybe, they bought Mojang and MineCraft to prepare themselves for software releases on multiple platforms to help bolster their software line-up. MineCraft 2, Halo, Gears of War, and Fable would all do really well on pretty much any platform.

Is it crazy to think that MS took a look at the success of Minecraft and is thinking about applying it to their own franchises in addition to the purchase of MineCraft? Ehhh, probably.
