Bayonetta's mindless fun is not creativity.
Anyways I can compare GOW and Bayonetta to two other franchises, to make it more clear. Bayonetta is like the Saint's Row of hack n slash game, fast, fun for some time, overly stylish, but ultimately lacking substance. GOW is like GTA of hack n slash games, takes its gameplay seriously while being a fun game throughout, reaching new heights in epicness and scope and having a story which makes sense, and is easily the best in the genre.
