It's clear the majority don't care for precise or excessively deep combat as long as it's fun & accessible, thus GoW's popularity & acclaim. People need to realise that GoW's combat isn't designed to be as technical as those Japanese hack 'n' slash games. GoW3 is pretty much objectively #1 in its genre. It's the most acclaimed and with over 5 million fans and sales well over 6 million units, it's significantly more popular than everything else. You don't have to agree personally but your opinion represents a tiny minority. And no, Bayonetta 2 doesn't have a shot, games in this genre rarely win many GOTY awards, it might just win a couple if it's at least as good as the first. |
What are you talking about? I am VERY much a huge fan of GOW, and was praising it. Maybe you interpreted it wrongly. Still I believe GOW's combat is fun and accessible at lower difficulty levels, but on Hard and Very Hard mode it really shows how deep it is. There's a reason why fans play each game all over again on Very Hard mode.
