Or the game could be about the Pokemon hunter fro the Canalave library book. And you have an option of repenting to Arceus at the end or killing it God of War style because you feel like it.

Maybe the motivation was because some wild Pokemon killed your family or something.

Edit: Oh man what if they made a God of War Pokemon game where you fight massive legendary as Pokemon like Groudon, Rayquaza, and Regigigas?
