I never said that all their software is complete trash. the office suite is good... err.. windows media player is decent. Your argument was basically that Microsoft can't do no wrong when it comes to software. I proved out you wrong.

 

sadly, I programmed my own word processor before and there are other media palyers that support more. Like i said its about what programmers you have on hand. For the major software M$ sucks, plain and simple. This is why it took 3 service packs to make XP or what XP really stands for Xtreme Performance what they originally promised.

But your completely missing what we are discussing.  We are not talking about media players, we are not talking about windows, we are not talking about word processors.

What we are talking about is the OS's of the PS3 and the 360.  As you pointed out, Sony can hire programmers, MS has even more money to hire exactly the same people.  For you to make a blanked statement to the effect of "MS developers suck" is complete crap.  They are highly capable, what limits them is the corporate nature of Microsoft.

At the end of the day, Microsoft has far more in-house software development resources and know-how than Sony does.

Yes, Microsoft programmers might be more capable then what they showoff but thats the thing Microsoft doesnt allow them to program meaning the programmers aka developers in the corporate situation sucks. So yes the developement team sucks because Microsoft is an oppressive dictatorship.

Also BS on more in-house software dev resources and know-how. That's complete BS as any company can create their own and hire programmers that have to know-how. Its just up to the company to use it. This is why HOME is being created, the PSN is more stable, the XMB is clean, etc. As long as you don't oppress your programmers great things happen.  

As for money, there are people who love to program that would be willing to be hired for $40k a year. Money is not that major of a factor.
