Both 3DS And Wii U Are Performing Poorly In The US. What Can Be Done?

Unfortunately and surprisingly, that's not the solution. Look at the 3DS, it has AMAZING GAMES and Third Party Support (POKéMON X, Legend of Zelda: A Link between Worlds and Ocarica of Time, Fire Emblem: Awakening, Resident Evil: Revelations, Bravely Default, Street Fighter 4, Super Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario Bros. 2, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Shin Megami Tensai IV, Zero Escape: Virtues Last Reward, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, (need I say more?), and sales are still declining.

Sales have been decling in the past several months because no games of note have been released in the past several months.  Your list does not contain anything recent.  Again, games, games, games.  They have to keep coming.
