Idk why people act as if this 2.5 billion could have instantly went to games or studios had MS not spent it here. This is much more than a videogame investment. LOL @ buying Crapcom or something instead.

If they make this Windows exclusive, who knows whether it makes the move worth it or not. Most people don't realize the franchise nets hundreds of millions in merchandising every year either.

Lol no it doesn't. Mojang, with all it's sources of income (ie. Minecraft, Minecraft merchandise, scrolls and cobalt, the two other mojang game) Made 130 million combined last year. Not close to hundreds of millions from merchandising alone.

That's profit, and that's after a huge payout they make every year for the Minecraft IP.

A company isn't going to profit every penny from what something brings in. Look at Destiny. 500 million in sales day one or whatever. Activision didn't deposit a half a billion dollar check. Most of that is not profit.

I assumed you were talking about profit as that's what is going to make MSs money back. The net income doesn't help them on that front.
