Great use of 2.5 billion dollars Microsoft. What are they going to do? Stop updating the current game and start making a bunch of sequels? Whore the franchise out with spinoffs that will most likely fail inevitably fail? Make it a selling point for Windows Phones? But that would involve pulling the iOS and Android versions and lose a whole bunch of revenue and relevance. This just reminds me of Zynga constantly buying up popular smartphone fads like Draw Something and then running them into the ground a year later.
