With the multiple bundles Nintendo announced after the announcement of the New 3DS in Japan, I'm actually thinking Nintendo isn't going to stop the selling the current 3DS model. I like Nintendo consoles, but I dislike Nintendo because of the sales tactics they've used their entire existence, and this is really Nintendo being Nintendo.

Remember when the DS was out, Nintendo pretty much  dropped GBA support and third parties followed suit.  Then Nintendo released the Gameboy Micro?  There were big titles like the Final Fantasy Advance games,  but not much else.  Or when the Gameboy Pocket was selling alongside the Gameboy Color until the GBA came out.

I'm thinking that Nintendo will keep the 3DS, 3DS XL, 2DS, New 3DS, and New 3DS XL selling side by side. This way they'll sucker the people who aren't well informed into purchasing a 3DS or 3DS XL because it's cheaper, and then they'll be required to upgrade when they want to play a game that happens not to be available in their system.
