I'm surprised people aren't more optimistic about Captain Toad. It's not retailing for the normal $60 price tag, and every game Tokyo EAD has developed has over a 90 except their first game 10 years ago (Donkey Kong Jungle Beat). Even Flipnote Studios from them has a 93 (from a small sample size granted). There's a chance it could end up with the highest of all these games given the pedigree of its team.

I'm not sure if Captain Toad will have a lot of original content, and reviewers will probably deduct some points because it reuses many assets from SM3DW.

I think the game will be good, but if it was more like Yoshi's Island SNES (Mario spin-off with totally new gameplay, unique artstyle), I would be more optimistic.
