That's it, I'm not reading anything else about GTA IV.

I feel the same way, I hope all this hype doesn't ruin the game if it's good but doesn't live up to the sky-high expectations.

Mario Kart? Not Fallout 3, Fable 2, Little Big Planet, Alan Wake, Resident Evil 5, Killzone 2, Prototype, Banjo 3, Resistance 2... but Mario Kart?

You might as well have said:

"The only current-gen console I own is a Wii and I have no idea what other games are coming out for the 360 and PS3 this year."

 


 Well and Spore.  Spore probably will end up with a large share of GOTY awards.  Spore i think will be bigger then any of the games listed in your post.  Thoguh it may not be hardcore enough to win a majority of GOTY awards.
