I don't want the pad to boot period. And deal with turning the screen off every time. And lowering the speakers volume. I use the gamepad with Pikmin only. The other 6 games is the Wii remote or pro controller.

It seems too much effort for me. You screw you warranty for things you're too lazy for it? Don't get me wrong, I'm all up for system mods, but this is kind of... pointless. Especially if you end up losing things because your pad is off, like not being able to use Youtube and probably Netflix too. These are the apps I use the most on my Wii U and having to turn on the Gamepad in order to use those apps (and the Quick Boot too, of course) kind of kills the need for this mod.

What he' trying to do is different. I have a Wii-U and love it but I think that someone should be able to take their official pro controller and boot up that way. Imagine if you could take a pro controller, sit down on your couch and turn on the Wii-U that way without ever having to turn on the gamepad. I think that would be awesome and it's puzzling why we don't have that option.

You lose two of the best features of the console, the Remote Control and the Quick Boot,  and also prevents you from using some little things, like Youtube and maybe other apps because of "I hate the pad"? Not my cup of tea.
