The best version of all multiplats and launch lineup of Zelda U (give it a different name, lol), Zelda WW HD, Pikmin 3, Xenoblade Chronicles X, MK8, Donkey Kong, 3D and 2D Marios, Bayo, Smash... That could work. Moreover, releasing 2 years after the competition would allow them to make the console more powerful, yet keep the price at a reasonable level. Whether you like it or not, this is the only way to regain the core gamers, though obviously there is no guarantee of a success. Then again, Wii U is too flawed to ever do it, so in this case you have the guarantee of a failure. |
Disagree, people are shitting themselves over the new 3DS and it's coming out 4 and a half years after the initial release of the 3DS (assuming we see it around next Christmas). I think coming out in 5 years (2016 or early 2017) may not be a bad idea. This would give them the strongest console on the market for a few years, have the games they have announced come out, and have another year to push more TOP QUALITY software out while ditching games like The Voice BS. This way people would at least feel that they got their moneys worth out of the console and would be ready for the next. Releasing any earlier than that would put them in the same light as Sega with it's Saturn. And that's assuming we believe the power of the console is Nintendos problem with the market (which while I think it may be a part of, but NOT the only reason people are shying away from the Wii U), and a better company image by closing the floodgates of shit games, everyone wins eventually.
