Really? They both came out the same day and are the biggest games on their respective platforms, in other words next gen rivals.

But it has everything to do with MK being one of the best-selling franchises in gaming history, while Watchdogs is just a fresh new IP. In other words, it's the challenger : do you deny the challenger the right to fight the champion? Who would have bet on Watchdogs to outsell MK8 by such a huge margin one year ago?
It's not Watchdogs's fault if MK8 isn't multiplatform either. If MK8 is that good, people will buy WiiU to play it. Half of Watchdogs sales are PS4 version btw, so still quite above MK8...
