I guess it depends on the culture she came from. For my own culture it's only the lowest of the low that move back in with their parents, but for my girlfriend it's expected that if anyone is having a hard time they can always move in with their other family members. If that's the case for your girlfriend then this truly might be just as she stated and she needs to move back in with her mother to help with bills, but if not I'd think I got dumped.
Also, a question, does that mean you now have twice the bills to pay?
