I think the peak gaming audience is the 17-22 year old male though honestly.
They have the time to play games, but also the disposable income to buy their own games (rather than kids who have to rely on mom/dad to get them).
When I was 10, I got maybe 2-3 games a year if I was lucky, it all boiled down the birthday and Christmas gifts, but when I was 18, I would buy 5-8 games a year no problem.
This is why for home consoles in a way, Sony's approach is better.
