I'm not sure who's developing Sonic Boom tbh, whether they're a third party or indie developer but Platinum Games are an indie developer and as such it's impossible for them to produce a third party developed game. If indies publish the games inderpendently (As a third party) you can easily argue they're third party.
But there actually quite a lot of room is room for sematic debate here. If they publish on the Nintendo estore you could actually argue that Nintendo is the publisher. You can also argue that Amazon is the publisher of all kindle ebooks and Apple is the publisher of all iphone games. Lot of semantics here. No cold hard facts.
