There is local co-op. I believe just not for the main campign. The camera angles in these kind of games can get quite wonky. So, you'll probably want to play the campaign alone anyways or online. 

Are you sure? Everything I read says online only.

I would love offline co-op, if true. Platinum could always give one player the TV screen and the other the GamePad screen.
