Console gaming is dead in Japan. Only the WiiU sputters by, but honestly the U numbers are STILL horrible. The VITA, yes the lowly Vita, blows the WiiU numbers away, and the Vita of course is utterly crushed by 3DS sales. WiiU is a SUPER distant 3rd place in the overall market. PS4 will never get big in Japan, U will sputter for a little while longer and die out, XB1 will die on release basically.
It's a mobile country now, AND one that is rapidly aging. Gaming will be dead in Japan even on mobile in a few gens.
