During the pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference held this morning, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia President Atsushi Morita gave some interesting information about the performance of PlayStation consoles in Japan.

According to Morita, PlayStation home consoles (PS4 and PS3 combined) claim the 78% of the market share in the home segment in Japan.

On the other hand, since the launch of the PS Vita 2000 the penetration of the hardware in the localmarket has sped up by 1.6 times. Morita-san also mentioned that Software sales are seeing a similar improvement as well.

A very not so clever way of Sony hiding the fact that Nintendo is kicking their butts with the 3DS and Wii-U lol.

the Wii U sold less than the PS4 in japan for the year 2014...

How's those weekly sales doing since launch though? It's just a matter of time.
