They should have waited another year, improved the specs even more, used a different name, and made it the 3DS successor instead of a temporary stop-gap before their next handheld.
The splintering of the 3DS userbase just makes no sense to me, not when they're planning on releasing New 3DS-only software. How are they going to avoid total customer confusion at retail?
"Does this play on 3DS?"
"No, only on the NEW 3DS."
"So, it's not the same system?"
"No, it is, but it's just got more features and better specs."
Totally avoidable...
The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.
