Except, not really. Already down to 81k in US (could this slip to the 50k area?) and only hovering around 8k in Japan.

It's new baseline will be around 45k~ a week, that's not exactly a big improvement on last years 30k, in sheer units. Is it?

im just gonna state my opinion one and for all

nitendo and microsoft deserve their consoles to do bad

Neither really deserve for their consoles to do badly. Especially XB1, MS rectified things and now aside from power (which isn't a huge gap) it's on par with PS4.

WiiU simply targets a very niche market, no reason for it deserving to do badly. Obviously a lot of their choices since have meant low sales.

Like you say, for x1 that only matters now that they are fresh and debates for early adopters are fuiling that power gap argument. But down the line when people stop caring, the x1 will pick up in sales. After the first pricecut will be the latest.

Like you said with the Wii u, it would have been fine for them it the price was right, wich it is not at the moment. Another thing is their games dont lower their price over time, wich is another factor in the total price when you buy those games. But eventually they will learn and drop the price. They should do $200 to do well. If they have a loss at first they should make it in software.
