Why so much hate for the "New" Nintendo 3ds???

It's likely not powerful enough to be considered a new generation of handheld. And yet, it has hardware functions that are not available on the old 3DS. As a result, the prospect for exclusive content appears extremely limited, as it would alienate current 3DS owners without providing a clear reason to upgrade. And then there's that name: "New 3DS." Just when we though Nintendo's marketing department couldn't possibly get any worse, they drop that on us. I can hardly figure out what their strategy is here except "boost hardware sales to satisfy investors." It feels more like a quick cash-in than a legitimate revision.

 

That's why it gets hate.  Nobody is quite sure what to make of it.

As for many n3DS only games ... I wouldn't count on it. This is just basically the same thing as the DSi/DSi XL. It's the last revision for the 3DS before they bring out their next true successive portable platform, which is heavily speculated/hinted at being a hybrid type of platform.
