I do hate apple and their yearly new hardware launches, but I think this is a case of it being done right. Technology is moving faster and faster. I don't want gaming handhelds to have yearly upgrades by any means, but the 3ds needed a second analog nub from the get-go, which is why they made that huge analog peripheral.

I think upgrading the hardware on a product like the 3ds halfway through its lifespan is acceptable.
