I suggest u dont look at it like this! when iphone came to be in 2007 it could run games that looked as good as PS2 games, now after 7 years and on iphone 6 we may see games that look like some of last gen games, theorical performance of the PS2 was 6GFLOPS and PS3 was around 400GFLOPS, that's just 394GFLOPS gain in 7 years if we compare this to iphones! So lets say in 7 years iphone 12! will have a theorical performance of not even 800GFLOPS but 1TERAFLOPS! (200 extra here cause of advancments in tech!) its still behind the PS4 by 1 freakin TF(CPU+GPU) and until then if Sony make another console we gonna see PS5 with at least triple the PS4's power. |
The other thing to remember is that Flops aren't everything. As chip architectures improve, devs will be able to use more advanced techniques whilst using significantly less power.
