No it will only fragment the audience and few developers will use the extra power and extra buttons. I'm actually quite pissed at Nintendo for this. I've had mine for barely a year and it's suddenly gained these improvements out of no where now so i'm gonna miss out on some games potentially. I don't care about Xenoblade Chronicles (a 'new' 3ds only game) but it's not right to do this to your loyal customers.
This isn't meant to be a successor to the 3ds so why split the base like that?
