As few already said. I think price cut with new X1-slim will work better.
Just like how ps3-slim helped push more units to consumers.
Lower price, new redesigned look. Will be more appealing to new consumers and people who already own old X1 as well.
Till then we will see soft price cuts (bundles).
(I am waiting for X1 bundled with MCC @ $399)
