I highly doubt it: Smash is the kick off for Amiibo, and the first range of toys is launching this year. I'm expecting it's going to just about squeeze into 2014, releasing in the first couple of weeks of December. Nintendo will rely on this DLC for Kart to get more people excited about the Wii U in November itself, there's already been a hugely positive reaction on the internet to the announcement. Nintendo are going to have to rely on Kart as their major system seller until late November, basically, because Smash is going to release so late.
If anything, given Captain Toad has slipped to 2015 in Europe, I think November will have no first party releases in Europe, and the Kart DLC is there to make up for it. I think that's why the next pack is dated for May 2015, because Nintendo are anticipating a quiet patch in their release schedule. If they can release DLC for games with a high attach rate, then it's one more (cheaper) way of keeping their userbase satisfied.
