The single player is the most important part of a game, in my opinion. It introduces you to the world, its characters, struggles and helps you immerse yourself in that setting. It's a build up to the MP "Struggle"
Obviously, MMOs and MP only games are the exception. I personally prioritize SP over MP any day.
