It happens often that the XB1 is below 50k a week, there are even weeks where it's around 35k... those who think this is a sure shot that it will over sell the Wii U over its lifetime are overly optimistic, there are real chances if it never reaching second position (however I would not bet the other way around either). |
NIntendo had assumptions that mass of Wii adopters would buy WiiU. Turned out not true, as it is really only old Nintendo gamers attracted to HD versions of some past favorite Nintendo games that continue to sell WiiU.
Microsoft had assumptions that mass of X360 and Kinect adopters would buy XBO. Turned out not true, but industry doesn't believe XBO is "dead" because the 3rd parties haven't abandoned it yet.
Sony managed to repair a lot of wrongs of the PS3. They are enjoying the success of being the best overall next-gen machine for 3rd party games. To the point where they are succeeding even while they have currently weakest 1st party offerings of the 3 (Nintendo having strongest quantity and quality per Meta Critic ratings).
But who is buying PS4 is what is most interesting. I am just amazed how many X360 owners readily moved to PS4.
