I think a MS represenative had said that they were north of 5M sold through back in June anyways.

He didn't... There was a rumour that a MS rep said X1 north of 5M and PS4 over 9M.


I dont think Microsoft has given us sold numbers even once this generation for obvious reasons. So the logical conclusion is that 5m number was shipped consoles, not sold to consumers, wich is what NPD, media create and VGC track.

They gave numbers up to end 2013. But yes they didn't got 5M sold through, Just shipped.
